Great Time to Fly Fish in Louisiana!
Who's ready for warm weather and great fishing?! I know I am! Spring and Summer can't come soon enough as I'm over this winter weather. As the temperatures heat up so does the fishing. Spin fishing (light tackle) and fly fishing for redfish, black drum, jack crevalle, sheepshead, alligator gar, sharks, tripletail, etc. are many of the species we target and encounter during the months where insulating layers aren't needed and a little sweat on your brow is common. Cold water is a must and an ice cold beer couldn't taste any better. This is also a time when topwater action may be a good option, especially for redfish and jack crevalle. Here's a little video put together by a client of mine that gives a glimpse into some of the action we could encounter. I CAN'T WAIT!
